What is an endowment fund?

An endowment is a special fund set up to support ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú forever. The money donated to the endowment, called the principal, is not spent. Instead, it’s invested, and only the earnings from those investments are used to support the university. Over time, the original donation grows, helping to provide more support for ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú year after year.
