The R.L. Bolin Petroleum Geology Laboratory is a computing facility to support advanced teaching and research in oil and gas exploration and production. Workstations permit students and faculty to digitize and process analog data, incorporate digital files, assess correlations, construct images of the subsurface, and model reservoir characteristics.
In addition to quality software purchased by the lab, additional software for the lab has been generously donated by and . The software available includes for geological modeling, for dynamic reservoir simulation, for mapping, cross sections, well log plotting, and volumetric calculations, and for seismic interpretation.
