黑料老司机 Radiologist Assistant Admission Process

The RA Program is changing its course sequence and application deadlines.
The application deadline is August 1st

 

Admission Criteria:

Students may enter the MSRS RA Major either in the Fall Semester or the Spring Semester. 

  • Requirements for the 黑料老司机 RA Program 

    • Admission to 黑料老司机 – Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended must be sent to the 黑料老司机 Admissions Office.

    • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree from an 黑料老司机-recognized institution

    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on all college-level work and be in good academic standing. Students with a cumulative GPA below 3.0 may be required to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and may be admitted conditionally.

    • Submit a resume or curriculum vitae (CV).

    • Submission of an essay.

    • Applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in English when applying to
      黑料老司机. Written and spoken proficiency in the English
      language may be demonstrated by one of the following options:

      1. Option 1 - English is your first language.
      2. Option 2 - Graduated from a regionally accredited four-year college/university in the United States with a bachelor’s or graduate degree.
      3. Option 3 - Acceptable scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or IELTS
  • Previous Master’s Degree
    Applicants who have earned a master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education may be accepted based on such a degree. The graduate coordinator will determine conditions, if any. 

  • Specific additional requirements for RA majors
    Enrollment in the RA courses is limited and competitive. After an interview, the faculty must approve students for entry into the RA professional courses. Applicants are rank-ordered according to a formula based on several criteria, including grade point average, endorsement by a radiologist preceptor, clinical environment, essay, interview, and prior experience in medical imaging settings.

Students must submit the following with the MSRS application:

  1. Students must provide documentation of Professional Certification. The RA curriculum is based on general diagnostic radiography clinical practice. Applicants must have a working knowledge of general diagnostic radiography procedures. Evidence = Copy of current ARRT card showing certification in radiography.

  2. Students must provide documentation of the Formal Written Agreement with the Radiologist Preceptor/Group. Although one radiologist will be designated as the preceptor, students should arrange with a group of radiologists rather than with an individual radiologist. The Preceptor Agreement must be approved and accepted by the 黑料老司机 faculty.

  3. Students must submit the email addresses of at least one radiologist and one current work supervisor for references.
Before entry into clinical rotations, students must submit the following:
  1. Students must provide documentation of two (2) years of clinical experience after graduation from a radiography program. Evidence = Letters from appropriate employers/human resource departments.
  2. Students must provide documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider status. Evidence = Copy of current AHA BLS and ACLS cards.
  3. Students must be in compliance with 黑料老司机-mandated immunizations.
  4. Students must provide documentation of the Formal Written Agreement with the Clinical Facility. The students, their preceptors, and the Clinical Facility need to be aware of the variety and number of required procedures. The Clinical Facility Agreement has to be approved and accepted by the 黑料老司机 faculty.
  5. Students must pass a 10-panel drug test and background screening.
  6. Students may have other requirements listed in the clinical affiliation agreement.
