Admission Procedures and Policies
Admission Criteria
Applications to the Radiography program are accepted until August 31st. A $25 non-refundable application fee is required when submitting your application.
To be considered for admission to the Radiography Program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher in all coursework required for the BSRT degree and be in good academic standing with the university.
- Successfully complete BIOL 1134 and BIOL 1234 with a grade of C or higher prior to applying to the program. Both courses must have been completed within five years of entering the Radiography Program. Students who have repeated either course more than once within the past five years are not eligible for admission.
- Satisfy all 黑料老司机 Success Initiative (TSI) requirements.
- Be core complete or be missing no more than 3 credit hours of core curriculum coursework at the time of application. RADS 4123 Data Analysis is a core course that may be completed before entering the Radiography Program.
The 黑料老司机 Radiography Program partners with clinical sites throughout a broad geographic region, including locations outside of Wichita Falls. Students should be prepared to travel to assigned clinical sites and are responsible for all transportation, housing, and living expenses associated with off-campus clinical experiences.

- Cultural & Global Understanding (3 hrs)
- Undergraduate Inquiry and Creativity (3hrs)

- Forty-four (44) of the forty-seven (47) core and data analysis courses must be completed by the end of the fall 黑料老司机 semester of the year applying to the BSRT program.
- Even if a statistics course transfers in as core math, one additional three-hour college-level core math, other than statistics, must be completed.
- All core courses, including RADS 4123, must be completed by the end of the first semester in the Radiology program.
Students are considered a transfer if they have been accepted into 黑料老司机 and bring 18 or more non-developmental transferable credit hours with them. No radiography-specific courses will be transferred. Please visit the Admissions Office for Transfer Information or email the radiology advisor, Suzanne.Hansen@msutexas.edu.
Application Process
Applications are accepted from July 1 through August 31.
To begin the application process, visit the application portal using the link below.
Once you are in the portal, select Forms from the navigation menu on the left side of the screen and search for BSRT Application.
As part of the application process, you must upload copies of official transcripts from every college or university attended, including 黑料老司机 transcripts.
Please ensure all application materials are submitted by the application deadline. Applications that are incomplete or missing required documents may not be considered for admission.
After Acceptance into the Program
1. Apply for admission to 黑料老司机

2. Apply for a background check
- If the applicant is aware of issues before the background check, he or she should contact the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists for the procedure to pre-apply for eligibility. Failure to do so may result in ineligibility to sit for the national certification exam and/or removal from the program.
- International students must either opt for the international background check through castlebranch.com or provide a government-issued letter stating a clear background from each nation.
3. Attend mandatory student orientation
This will be on campus and in person the Friday before the Spring semester start date. Students will not be excused from this orientation and will forfeit their admission spot if they do not attend.
4. When requested, provide other requirements mandated by the program
- Provide proof of health insurance – students are responsible for any personal injury occurring at the university or hospital. Purchase of Health/Accident Insurance is required. It is the student's responsibility to keep this information current. Any 黑料老司机 student may purchase health insurance through the university. Students may contact the Vinson Health Center for additional information.
- Provide proof of CPR certification - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- Obtain program-approved student liability insurance.
- Be in compliance with state or program-mandated immunizations.
- Complete drug testing for illegal substances.
- Provide any other requirements mandated by the clinical affiliates
Note: Failure to provide evidence of the above may result in dismissal from the program.
Note: There is a $50 distance education fee for those courses with an X designation.
Standards for the Radiographer
Applicants to this program must understand the physical, behavioral, and social skills necessary to function as a radiographer in many facilities. Please read the following carefully:Employment Qualifiers
- Must be free from contagious diseases and chemical dependence.
- Must be able to perform all functions and tasks required of a radiographer.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony without restoration of their civil rights.

Visual Observation
Visual acuity must be adequate to enable the radiographer to:
- View radiographs to determine the quality and identify anatomy.
- Observe patients’ condition.
- Read control panels, technique charts, and other pertinent materials for patient care and professional practice.
Motor Functions
Motor functions must be sufficient to enable to radiographer to:
- Stand unassisted for periods of up to several hours.
- Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs and on and off stretchers or tables.
- Lift and handle radiographic equipment and tools.
- Manipulate radiographic equipment.
- Assist patients in emergencies.
Communication and Behavioral Skills
- The radiographer shall possess sufficient communication skills to receive and convey information, concepts, and ideas to patients, healthcare personnel, and others.
- Behavioral and social skills must be sufficient to enable the student to conduct themselves appropriately and professionally in college and clinical settings.
Readmission Policy
- See the student handbook for all readmission policies.
- A student will be eligible for readmission one time only.
- The student will petition for readmission:
- Students who wish to be readmitted must first submit a letter to the Department Chair and to the Program Admissions Chair stating a desire for readmission prior to the start of the semester following dismissal. Second, the student should make an appointment with the Radiologic Sciences Department Chair. Third, they must submit a letter to the Program Admissions Committee stating the factors affecting their failure in the program, and how issues and problems will be resolved upon readmission
- Readmission is dependent on available clinical affiliates. Failed courses must be repeated. Passed courses must be tested out for progress. It is highly recommended that all passed Radiologic Sciences BSRT courses be attended to refresh information. Retention and remediation activities will be determined individually for each student by the Admissions Committee based on each student’s previous academic history with the program. The student’s original clinical assignment will no longer be valid, and students will have to compete for clinical sites. Students have 42 months from the beginning of their radiography training to complete the BSRT degree radiography curriculum and 黑料老司机.
