In the Fall of 2014 the department obtained permission to begin designing a $7 million dollar, 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Mass Communications education center. Ground was broken in February of 2016 and the two-story D-wing of the Fain Fine Arts Center opened in the Fall of 2017. Features include a full television studio with multiple sets, a Mac lab for journalism/digital media, a broadcasting lab, a newsroom, a work-café, $1.4 million in new equipment, six edit bays, an audio booth, faculty offices and collaboration spaces.
