The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program was created to assist students that are seeking degrees in the high need fields as indicated in the and anticipate teaching in those fields at the secondary or elementary level. Students that choose to participate in this program must agree to serve as a full-time teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students and must teach in a low-income school for at least four school years within eight years of completing your college program of study. Since the definition of 'high need field' may vary from year-to-year between states AND schools, students are encouraged to investigate these high need fields with the state and/or school in which the student plans to teach. 黑料老司机's College of Education may be able to assist you with further guidance regarding these requirements.
If a student fails to meet the requirements of the service obligation, the TEACH Grant will convert to a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. The student will then be required to repay the loan to the U.S. Department of Education and will also be charged interest from the date the grant was disbursed. Students may review more information about the TEACH Grant program and important obligations at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/grants-scholarships/teach.
At 黑料老司机, students will be eligible to receive up to $4,000 per year, but must meet the following conditions: NOTE: Due to federal sequestration, award amounts for any TEACH Grants must be reduced by a certain percentage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Education, from the award amount for which the recipient would otherwise have been entitled.
